THE TYTHERINGTON GOLF CLUB LOCAL RULES

1. OUT OF BOUNDS

a) Beyond all hedges, walls and the inside points at ground level of any fence post marking the boundaries of the course.

b) On or beyond the path to the rear of the 9th & 18th greens including the area of the clubhouse and practice putting green.

2. WATER HAZARDS

Areas defined by yellow stakes

3. LATERAL WATER HAZARDS

Areas defined by red stakes.  

4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

a) Red and yellow stakes

b) All artificially surfaced paths

c) Staked trees

d) Fixed course furniture

e) Pop-up sprinkler heads

f) Bells on 2nd, 4th and 10th holes

5. STONES IN BUNKERS

Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies.

6. GROUND UNDER REPAIR

a) Areas marked by white lines and/or GUR notice

b) Wheel ruts

c) Drainage work

d) Relief must be taken from all GUR

7. EMBEDDED BALL

Relief for an embedded ball may be taken, without penalty, through the green

8. Relief from Yellow and Red Stakes (Immovable Obstruction)

The stakes marking the hazards must be treated as immovable obstructions and relief taken according to Rule 24-2.  They must not be pulled out of the ground.
Interference by an immovable obstruction occurs when the obstruction interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing. 

Relief
Except
when the ball is in a water hazard or a lateral water hazard a player must take relief from interference of the Yellow or Red stake as follows:

Through the green, the player must lift the ball and drop it one club length of and not nearer the hole than the nearest point of relief.  The nearest point of relief must not be in a hazard.

9. Use of devices that measure or gauge distance.  The Golf Committee has established a Local Rule allowing players to use devices that measure or gauge distance only.  The Committee stress that the use of a distance-measuring device (DMD) that is capable of gauging, or measuring other conditions, such as wind-speed, gradient or temperature etc, that might affect play is not permitted even if such a function is not used.  Players should be aware that the use of DMDs are not permitted in some inter-club league matches and are advised to check before using them. 

OTHER 

Please give priority to Greenkeepers.

Please be aware of the houses down the left on the 1st & 2nd holes.

Blue Stakes are 150 yards to the centre of the green.

Players should maintain a pace of play that allows them and others to complete 18 holes in no more than 4 hours.

In the event of lightening or a thunderstorm occurring whilst you are on the golf course, players are advised to leave the golf course immediately.  If you choose to play on, it is at your own risk.  No siren/alarm will be sounded by the Club.
